The Savoir-faire series

We believe that in order to build a sustainable world, it is essential for organizations to respond to the needs of individuals with positive environmental and social interventions. In this series, we discover the world of three exceptional organizations who, whilst swimming against the tide, have chosen to do better, everyday.

Know-How Leads to Being.

Ep.01 - Au gré des champs ↓

A pioneer in its field, Au gré des champs was the first to produce raw milk cheese in Quebec. Today, this cheese factory is a leading name in organic dairy and fine cheese production.

Ethical Work

Here can be found a barn where each cow has a name. The owners’ work proves that great cheese starts with a well-treated animal.

The Architecture

Their new barn was designed to accommodate a larger herd, and to provide more space for the cows. The barn’s architecture is signed by La SHED, a firm known for its modern approach.

Ep.02 - Menaud ↓

The Last Log Driver

We had to start by explaining this profession given that it has ceased to exist in Quebec in 1987. Our research led us to Robert, a former log driver of the La Malbaie River; we knew that none but him was more suited to introduce Menaud's story.

Charlevoix

Producing a good gin requires quality ingredients. And Charlevoix is full of them. We went there for a visit with the alcohol producers to find them.

Ep.03 - C'est beau ↓

The brand C'est beau was created in 2012 and always stayed close to its values : doing things right, locally, while respecting the environment. Today, c'est beau offers a complete line of everyday clothing made in Quebec as well as accessories created by local artisans.

Basics Made Here

Most clothing brands don't show their production’s behind-the-scenes. Why? We are wondering. This should be mandatory. Hence, we decided to capture all the action in the c’est beau clothing factory in order to showcase the workers doing their thing.

These Bons Vivants

The different portraits presented in the Savoir-Faire series are all driven by one thing: the desire to do things right. For us, this translates into offering a product that is made in an ethical and environmentally friendly way.
